I'm a little late sharing this as we have already been there a day, but I just wanted to let you know we are going to be at the Quilt and Stitch Village in Uttoxeter over this weekend.

Come and say hello!

Heart Quilt with the Wee Wander Blog Tour

A little while ago we volunteered to be part of the Wee Wander Blog Tour, not thinking for a minute that we would actually be accepted but we were!

The Wee Wander range is designed by the super talented Sarah Jane and is amazing. Below is my tutorial for a Heart quilt using this wonderful fabric.

Wee Wander Heart Quilt.

Fabric requirements:

For the Heart:
I used a FQ Bundle of 10 FQs in the Twilight colour range from Wee Wander by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller.

This let me fussy cut the prints that I really loved and I still had some leftover for other projects.

For the Background:
2m of Solid or Neutral - I used Moda Bella Solids in Porcelain

0.5m for the binding
2.5m for the backing (see notes below).

Basic Instructions:

1. Read all instructions before you begin.
2. RST means right sides together.
3. All seams are 1/4” allowance.
4. WOF means width of fabric.

Cutting.

For the Heart - from your patterned fabric cut the following:

2 squares 7”x7”
34 squares 5”x5”
2 squares 3”x7”
2 squares 7”x3”
2 squares 3”x3”

From the Solid - for the background:
6 strips WOF x 5”
Sub cut into the following:

1 of 5” x 14”
4 of 5” x 15”
4 of 5” x 10”
5 of 5” x 5”
2 of 5” x 19”
2 of 5” x 24”
3 strips WOF x 10” - Cut one of these into half.
See the chart below:

Sew the completed blocks A, B, C and D together to form Row E. Then sew together the completed rows A to B, C to D, etc to complete the quilt top.

**Not sure why the tables above aren't showing properly. If you would like a PDF copy of the pattern please send us an email**

The backing fabric needs to be at least 50 Inches width by at least 56 inches depth.
The piece I used was WOF (44 inches) by 50 Inches so I added a border to bring it up to size.

Quilt as desired and bind using 2.5 inch strips.

Finished Quilt Dimensions 50” x 56”

I couldn't bear to put a needle through any of the children or animals on the fabric so I fussy quilted around them!

The whole quilt was pieced, quilted and had the binding finished by hand using my favourite thread, Aurifil this one number 2311 just the right shade of off white.

I would just like to thank Sarah Jane for giving us this opportunity to work with such beautiful fabric and thank you for stopping by on the Blog Hop.

Please follow the links below for details of where the fabric is available.
